It’s done

Finally the new rug is done, it is a bit rustic but I have learnt a lot from doing it.
Manly I wanted to lean how to control the tufting gun better and with the white I have pretty much achieved this. I have also learnt that music helps me relax in to doing it.
I’ve also learnt that simple is better.

Ladder and metaphor

The fragile dream ladder is done for now, it’s as wrapped and secure as it can be. I have an idea for a stand for it so that it can stand vertically instead of propped, then again maybe it’s strength lies in propping it.
It is all one big metaphor.

Back at it

Found some time to work on this painting, it’s in the stages of being so near yet so far, as I’m in the stages of being lost with it.
It is my problem, having so much racing through my mind at any one time, the moments of creativity stop the noise as I’m focusing on something else.

Back from @moss_studio_store Altrincham it really is a shame the metallic lustre dose not show but it seems to have worked really well. Next time I will water the iron wash down but this has the aged effect I am looking for

Glazing

Two more friends glazed and ready for the sacrificial fire of the kiln @moss_studio_store Altrincham.
This time I have used Iron wash, black Matt and a manganese wash.
What I have learnt is that I need to read the instructions as the wash glazes should’ve watered down, in my defence I paint the iron on and then wipe quite a lot of it back.

New friend

Got this sacrificial friend back from @moss_studio_store I think the glaze has worked well.
The Iron underglaze has got a rich lustre to it I think some of it has also effected the matt black as it is now more of a gloss black.
All in all I feel it is a success and has a really aged antique look to it.

Lacing

Not exactly in my studio but instead in front of the tv weaving and lacing the first ladder. The more I work on this the more it starts looking like a straw bear.
