It’s amazing how excited I can get over a piece of concrete lintel and a fractured brick. Something has really shifted in me recently and how I view things. I’m excited by the new possibilities and the abstraction. I know bricks and rubble is not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m enjoying using what is around me. There are also times I think about my late wife Tara, she is ever present in my mind. She was long suffering with he amount of stuff I used to bring in to the house, at least I now have a studio and shed to keep it in, and thankfully my not washing horses skulls out in the bath. Carved brick, brick dust , concrete, York stone, wood all salvaged parts from my local. All self supported by weight. . . Photographing this was epic as I had to heft it on to my work desk. I have been working on this piece slowly for some days. Something about it keeps drawing me back, I think it now needs a stand of some sort to add some hight and strength to it.
